Big Changes to Editing Services Coming In 2024

Hey Hey Writers ✨ As we near the middle of the year, I wanted to take a moment to share important updates with you regarding my editing services.

Since the inception of Augustine Editorial, it has been an incredible journey collaborating with writers like you, polishing your stories and witnessing your happiness when they’re finally out in the world, devoured by devoted readers. I am immensely grateful for your time, trust, support, and courageous hearts, and I have grown so much as an editor because of you.

The publishing industry is constantly evolving, and it’s essential for me to ensure my editing services adapt to the needs of writers and their readers. With this in mind, I’ll be implementing a few big (yet exciting!) changes to my editorial offerings, along with updates to my rates. Here’s what you can expect in May 2024:

1. 1. Expanded Offerings: To better adapt to the diverse needs of writers, my services will be expanding to include revised indie packages, beta reads, style sheet creation, and author virtual assistant. Webinars and audio narration will also become available, starting Spring 2025.
   2. Closer Collaboration: I’m a firm believer that editing goes beyond the manuscript; it’s a long-term partnership that relies on trust and constructive feedback. That’s why I’ll be fostering a deeper level of collaboration, maintaining open and consistent communication—and encouraging you to do the same! This effort will include the ability to email, text, and/or call me with feedback followup questions up to 6 months after the end of a editing service.
   3. Special Loyalty Promos & Discounts: As a token of my appreciation for your continued support of small editing business, I’ll be offering special promotions, discounts, and giveaways each month in an effort to make professional edits accessible to writers who need them most. There will also be an opportunity to earn referral points, which can be used to receive up to one full edit FREE each year.    4. Revised Rates Structure: To accommodate expanded offerings and a shift towards FT writer support, there will be a slight increase in the rates for my editing services. In the past, I’ve openly discussed my goal of wanting to keep my rates accessible to most writers. That is still true. However, I also need to ensure that my rates will help keep Augustine Editorial running. The new rates for all editorial services will do that and, though slightly higher, are still below the industry standards set by the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA).
